Animal cruelty| Ugly Beauty

I feel like writing this blog post I am going to be a hypocritical because I still use these product but before I looked into this subject I didn’t know much about it and I know it was a thing I didn’t know how much of a big thing it was (I will talk about why I still use these product later on in the blog post) but what I am talking about is animal cruelty in beauty products ( I know this testing method is used in more then just beauty related products)

I never really like deep into the subject of animal cruelty until I had to do a presentation in English, I was study media makeup and they wanted use to link it to are main course as much as probably I am not going to lie I had not idea what I was going to do it on but then my teacher came up with the idea was of doing it on animal cruelty which I like because I never really looked into it then I started researching and learning more about it.

First thing I knew it was a problem I never knew how big of a problem and how many companies use this method only because it's cheaper for them in the long run. Also the company that ship to china have to do these test for china to sell there product in there country, so for example MAC is a big brand so they ship to china but the product they sell in the uk are not tested on animals but in order to ship to place like china they are required to test on animals. This is not something MAC hide they have in on the website that they test some products on animal they also have never said they are cruelty free.

Millions of animal suffer a year with them being left in distress or pain and 1.4 million die a year from animal testing and if they don't die during the testing then they will be killed off afterwards meaning there is no pain relief for the poor things. They also don't have a voice to speak out about it (of course it would be a bit weird if an animal started to speaking),  After the tests have been carried out they will kill the animal if they survived though the tested.

The companies use animal testing to say that the product has been tested so if a customer get hurt using the product and sues the companies, the companies have the data that the product has been tested.

To know if your product are cruelty free it will have a label of a leaping bunny on it or the easiest way is to buy vegan you know things are vegan if they are label or they come from a vegan brand.

Some brands that do test on animals;
-Bobbi brown
-Mac
-L'Oreal
-Maybelline
-Revlon
-Benefit
-Avon
-Estee Lauder

Some brands that don't test on animals;
-Lush
-Boots and Superdrug own brands
-Barry M
-Real Techniques
-M.U.A
-Makeup Revolution
-Primark
-Zoella
-Tarte

My Opinion;
I would like to be cruelty free but it's hard, as I thought that not many drugstore brands are cruelty free but researching more into it a lot of the brand that I use are cruelty free which is amazing. Big brand more likely to ship over seas and test on animal but with this there is more variety if you are not cruelty free or you don't really care what product you use.

What I am going to do now after researching this is think more about what product I am buying and where they can from or are shipped to. I am going to use the internet to research more on product if I am unsure before I buy them.

I have made a choice to not put any of the picture of the animal on this blog post because they are disturbing and unsettling of some people you can look at them yourself if you want to see but you have been warned about it.
